Just to orientate you to the timings of my astrology narrations, I am located in Melbourne, Australia, and so depending upon where you are, the timings of occurrences will change.

The month begins with the waning phase of the Moon in the solar-lunar month of Libra. At the outset we have the activation of Uranus in aspect to Neptune combined with the social forces of Venus and Mars. This highlights great drive and originality but always under pressure, doing too much.

The caution here is about trying too hard to please others, going beyond perceived expectations in the belief you are able to do more than what is possible. That you can operate in a different way, breaking the binds of old habits in order to cultivate new values. When your efforts are not reciprocated, resentment can set in, along with the exhaustion. These first few days of the month are best for conserving your energies, focusing upon your creative pursuits.

The first day of the month though brings excitement as fresh solutions become more front of mind. You are more mentally alive, excited by listening to those with new insights but equally bored by those stuck in daily routines. You will also be more intuitive today than usual. Fresh insights are also possible from some introspection. Then by the end of the day, the energies become more slow and deliberate.

On October 2, the waning Moon makes its first significant aspect where your interactions with your business partner or spouse in some way means you have to compromise your values or surrender a cherished possession. You may feel unable to explain why but are just left with this overwhelming inner sense of feeling bound but torn by these circumstances. The sacrifice is difficult and you may feel at such a loss to explain yourself with Mercury opposing Neptune on October 2 and 3.

It is though actually a great opportunity to discuss your blocks with those closest to you. The focus of the energies of these two days will not be upon activity but more mental-emotional processing. Challenging you to be more open and see how this can be respected, acknowledged and understood. Taking a risk will bring greater closeness. And you may feel compelled to dig deeper as this is where you find inner peace.

You may also encounter someone today who has a significant impact upon your thinking and understandings. This helps set the more tranquil pace of October 4 and a shifting of your old behaviour patterns on October 5. This day also brings a heightened sensitivity to foods, medicines and substances.

On October 6, Mercury moves into Libra and thus adds a further dimension into this month of focusing upon your more intimate one to one relationships with close friends, business partners and spouses. So Mercury in this sign provides the opportunity to clarify communications with these people. It relates to your everyday communication style, patterns of thinking and interacting.

The aspecting of Venus and Pluto over the period of October 6 and 7 highlights the exhaustive efforts you go to in order to impress people who really don’t mean that much to you. It can also bring about the realisation of being misled by the profuse affection a love interest is showing you when in the end you are left disappointed. Do they fulfilll their promises, maybe say things but then don’t deliver? We come to the Third Quarter of the Moon and the final crisis in this relationship month. What are the current events telling you about what it is you want from your important relationships?

This time provides an important opportunity for tuning into your soul needs. With Mercury in aspect to Saturn, this can highlight your overestimations of what people expect from you. You may go to great lengths to ensure you do enough for them but in the process make life more difficult for yourself. You may want to gain their approval but your overindulging them may make them annoyed with you. In the end they just lose respect for you. Remember relationships are about giving and receiving and these should be in balance if the respect and love for each other is present. In establishing your own priorities, you will be clearer about what you can and can’t achieve and so not burn out or mentally torture yourself through overcommitting.

October 8 to 11 brings out your impatience so be careful about acting rashly as this may cause harm later on. With Mars square to Pluto, the temptation is to try and force or push your way in pursuing your desires. This just has the effect of pushing people away. Maybe you are rejecting their advances and are confronted by dramatic displays of anger when they feel rejected. This is an emotional time and calls for more level headed deliberation. So talk to someone you trust, to get a better sense of what is happening. Remember equal relationships mean we are given choices and are then able to decide for ourselves and that way we are collaborators, equal partners who respect each other and want the best for the other.

On October 9, Venus moves into Virgo, highlighting the messages of the paragraph above. It brings to the surface the difficulties in relationship you have not handled well earlier. So over this next month clarify the agreements you have with your partner and that way you can both accept the duties and obligations you hold in agreeing to work and live together. This time can also highlight the excesses with your sweet-tooth or your desire for fatty foods which may upset your digestion.

October 10 has a faster pace and with this overstimulation can come some impulsive decision making or careless thinking. So make sure that tomorrow you check over the decisions you make today. For October 11 will be a more thoughtful day when you will be clearer although not such an affectionate day. It will be a good day for reflecting as interacting with others will bring out obligations you would rather not face or encounter aspects of yourself you would rather not look at.

It is also the day when Pluto moves direct. Since early May, when Pluto moved retrograde, there has been a stirring up of much unconscious potential and so now this begins to find a way of expressing itself. These also are the final degrees of Pluto in Capricorn before it finally moves fully into Aquarius. The questions of who you accept in your life as leaders to look up to and seek guidance from finally gain clarity. The question of what you are trying to achieve in this life finds resolution as well.

Further to this theme, October 12 sees Mars move into Scorpio with a focus upon shared values. It highlights what it is you share in common with others and so begins the reorientation process around who you want to associate with, who you know to be your tribe. Over the next month and a half you may also find a heightening of your sexual needs, the desire to get out of your body and merge with another. This may place greater demands upon your relationship but will help to deepen what you have together.

October 13 has the potential to be a fairly frustrating day. There is a call to defer your own personal interests to meet the demands of life. What is good to understand here is that the difficulties in relationship stem from a poor relationship with your own self, from poor self esteem. But with Mars trine to Saturn you will possess the patience and willingness to do more exacting work which is unrewarding but necessary. You will better cope with difficult circumstances and see more clearly your unconscious habits of relating.

Early on October 15 is the solar eclipse, marking the closing of the solar-lunar month of Libra where the focus has been upon your interactions within relationship. With the beginning of the eclipse month the qualities of Scorpio continue to resonate strongly. Still focused upon the relationship but now more specifically upon what it is you share together. But here the personal needs and the needs of the relationship are sacrificed to the needs of the collective of the groups you find yourselves attached to. This theme will dominate over the next two weeks during this eclipse cycle. In addition to this will be the usual passing of people who have been public and popular figures.

October 16 looks to be fairly productive and watch out for impatience on October 17 as you may feel fairly confused and overestimate your capacities. Then on October 18 and 19 you may act fairly slowly and deliberately, feeling more of an inclination to retreat and not take on any new projects just yet.

October 20 highlights the sacrifices you make to others at your own expense. This may come about by you allowing them to intrude into your life because of your assumption of being the one who can solve their problems. But in serving their needs, you deplete your own energies. So be mindful around forming alliances with those who need you as this will not appeal to what you aspire towards in terms of aligning with your tribe. For the chances are you may be altruistic but blinded to what is really happening. On this day you also need to exercise extra care with your sensitivities to medicines, foods and recreational substances.

October 22 brings us to the First Quarter Moon in aspect with Pluto and Mercury. This adds the tension of obsessive thinking and feeling where powerful pressures are exerted upon you to force radical change in the way you share with others, if this is a particular issue for you. It could also be a day where you can have trouble with authority figures who will cause you problems if you persist to stand up against them. There can also be a tendency for machinery to break down or some problematic social interaction may also break down at this time.

On October 23, Mercury moves into Scorpio and the focus begins to shift to the shared resources in your relationships. This is a lucky day as well with Venus trine to Jupiter balanced by the more serious and conservative Mercury trine to Saturn. This promises good luck when the finer details are not overlooked and can work well for making investment opportunities.

On October 25 the Sun moves into Scorpio and so reflections move to deeper realms relating to your underlying motivations and feelings along with the shared finances of partnerships and relationships. The Sun also trines Saturn with a more disciplined and organised approach along with more realistic expectations around what you can potentially achieve given your circumstances. The next month will be a fruitful time for examining the structures you have built into your life and so then making the necessary adjustments to make things easier and more rewarding. October 25 and 26 will also be a good couple of days for clarity and action to support your grand dreams. For things need to change and this may be more evident on October 27 and 28.

Then on October 29 is the lunar eclipse in Taurus and so finishing the second ecliptic period of the year. The smaller luxuries in life cannot satisfy the deeper longings we have. These transcend our individual needs. There is an acknowledgement of what is really of most value to you right now and aiming for this becomes extremely important. With Mars opposing Jupiter this time can either be very lucky or fraught with conflict if not well considered. As the urge is to act rashly and depending upon your situation this can be a gamble or not. However, on another note this combination can also be good for health as well as childbirth.

On October 30 it is Mercury’s turn to oppose Jupiter and once again this is an optimistic day but care must also be exercised. It is good for contractual obligations but you must read the fine print. With care you can make some accurate observations. In addition to this, Mercury conjuncts Mars heightening mental energy but also requires restraint because if your ego ‘runs riot’ then blunders can occur as you will be sure of yourself and not see the pitfalls.
